Taking the rest of January off to attend to personal matters. See you in February.
Great resource! Especially for trainers and educators who want to use (what I consider) the best blogging tool out there.
I will be using Trailfire to build guided tours of various website resources for my classes. Neat little application which I have been meaning to use more; especially considering how the Internet is the natural environment of students today.
A research project for 2008 is a collection of Digital Communication programs. I am seeing more interest by the students in creating videos and audio for their websites and a move away from traditional texts. In teaching critical thinking, I’ve relied on the traditional tools of analysis which are based on text. There needs to be new tools of analysis for visual communications. Along with developing a list of Digital Communication programs, I will study how reasoning works in visual communications.
Based on the results of last semester, I have expanded the PowerPoint class to include more work with video and sound along with putting PowerPoints on the web. This reflects the trend of students using more video in their classroom presentation. The hard part is finding free and low-cost video-editing tools that don’t have a huge learning curve. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
